Hello, I’m Gene, and the journey of Ruvvy Running is not just my story; it's a legacy handed down by my father, Tony. Our story begins near the shimmering waters of Lake Tahoe, California, back in 1987. My father, an ardent lover of the outdoors, nature, dogs, and hiking, envisioned a brand that embodied the essence of comfort and functionality - a vision far ahead of its time.

In an era devoid of the technological conveniences of GPS, digital watches, or moisture-wicking fabrics, Tony crafted the first cap that perfectly embraced the Californian climate, warm in summer and cool in winter. However, this brilliant design, along with his dream of Ruvvy, remained hidden in the shadows until I stumbled upon it one day. Hidden in an old drawer, after my father's passing, was the cap and a notebook filled with his thoughts on Ruvvy, derived from 'Rush To Victory.'

Embracing my father's passion for the outdoors and armed with my own experiences as a runner since I was 15, I knew what it meant to hit the pavement under the scorching sun without proper protection. It was here that I found my calling, reviving my father's design into what Ruvvy Running caps are today - a fusion of legacy and innovation, tailored for today’s runners seeking comfort and style.

At Ruvvy Running, it's not just about manufacturing caps. It’s about crafting a piece of history, a token of our journey, and a testament to the trails we’ve conquered. We produce in limited quantities, ensuring each cap embodies our commitment to quality, design, and the fabric of our story. It's personal - each product is something I’m proud to wear, and I want you to feel the same pride when you do.

Our path has been graced with incredible friendships and a community that’s grown to be an extension of the Ruvvy family. Together, we've explored ways to connect with runners across the globe, crafting products inspired by the very essence of their spirit.

In honor of the silent companions we’ve met on our runs, like Pancake, our third dog, and in memory of Tony’s beloved Janco and Zuki, Ruvvy Running donates 1% of all sales to '1% for Them.' This program is our way of giving back, helping street dogs and cats in Mexico find permanent homes, ensuring they too have a chance at victory.
